Blowing in the Wind II
We stand on the threshold of a new evolution. As we leave the Age of Pisces behind, we enter Aquarius. While to many this may seem as though the constellations are moving backwards, they're not.
Our seasonal motion is controlled by the Sun. The Sun moves through the sky seasonally by traveling from west to east. The Sun also moves in a daily motion from east to west, which is of course the Earth's rotation on Her own axis. Since the rotation of the Earth is so much faster than the seasonal rotation, we 'see' the Sun move from east to west. If we were somehow able to put on the Earth's emergency brake and stop it from rotating, we would watch as the Sun rose in the west, took six months to travel through the daylight sky, and finally set in the east. It would then takes another six months for the Sun to move through the 'Underworld' (beneath the Earth), presumably through 'Fall and Winter'.
The 'wobble' of the Earth as it spins, pulled by the gravitational attractions of the Sun (the largest heavenly body in our sky) and the Moon (the closest heavenly body) are what drives the Ages. This 'wobble' causes the Earth to move 'precessionally'. We call it the 'Precession of the Equinoxes'. It's apparent constellational direction is not right or wrong, that's simply the way it moves.
Life on Earth would be a little more boring if all we traveled was a one-way street.
As we move into Aquarius, we are moving into an 'AIR Sign'. Eight thousand years ago (c. 6450 BC), the Vernal Equinox passed into the constellation Gemini. While the entry of the Vernal Equinox into Gemini was so long ago that it's difficult to pick up on its archaeological trail, an Age lasts for a little over two thousand years, which means that the echoes of this vibration didn't start growing fainter until about 4300 BC and the centuries following. By listening carefully, we can hear some of the 'vibrations' of this time remembered in their myths. Just as WATER has represented the spiritual medium of Pisces (baptism), FIRE was the spiritual medium of Aries (baptism by Fire), and EARTH was the spiritual medium of Taurus (enhanced fertility, agriculture and Mother Earth).
But Gemini was an AIR Sign, and Aquarius is an AIR Sign. By looking back, we can see forward. By learning from history (or even legend) we can gleam some of the wisdom of the future.
Have you done your homework? Do you understand how Gemini impacted the world between 6450 and 4300 BC? It's as easy as your celestial A, B, C's. In a number of myths, we hear about a world community intent on building a social structure in which humanity was learning to stand in balance with the heavens. There are many legends which address this notion, but one specific tale speaks of a Tower of Babel (confused communications), when the Age of Gemini came to an abrupt end. As the leader of the AIR Signs, Gemini is known for their speech, communications, and cleverness in being able to figure things out.
"Throughout the Earth men spoke the same language, with the same vocabulary..."
"Now Yahweh came down to see the town and the tower that the sons of man had built. "So, they are all a single people, with a single language!" said Yahweh.
"This is but the start of their undertakings! There will be nothing too hard for them to do. Come, let us go down and confuse their language on the spot so that they can no longer understand one another."
Yahweh scattered them thence over the whole face of the Earth, and they stopped building the town. It was named Babel, therefore, because there Yahweh confused the language of the whole Earth. It was from there that Yahweh scattered them over the whole face of the Earth." -Genesis 1, 5-9.
The 'town' that the people were working on was a world-wide community, attentive to keeping the Earth in balance, and the people (Her Children) in good humor with one another. It's called learning to love one another.
Distant reflections of times long ago can still be heard in the wind. The myths help us to understand how they perceived life. Around the Earth there are repeating themes that appear with minor variations, remembered by indigenous peoples everywhere. They include a Sea that dominated all existence, even before there was existence, a World Tree, and of a great Serpent wrapped around this Tree. These three images are also in the Hebrew Creation Myth. Here we are introduced to the Sea of these three.
"In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. Now the Earth was a formless void, there was darkness over the face of the deep, and God's spirit hovered over the WATER." -Genesis 1:1
This theme of 'World Community' is also evoked in Revelation when they speak of the 'New City'. This is at the end of the work, as they address the coming Age of Aquarius after all the tribulations.
"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; the first heaven (the Age of Pisces) and the first Earth had disappeared now, and there was no longer any sea" (more Pisces. It's a water sign. The Age is over). I saw the holy city, and the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, as beautiful as a bride all dressed for her husband"(this husband and bride are Heaven and Earth). Then Revelation makes predictions about this future 'Age'.
"You see this city? Here God lives among men. He will make his home among them, they shall be his people."
The more we understand some of the similarities, and differences, between Gemini and Aquarius, the better we will understand some of the grand construction project that is looming just ahead of us.
It's time to learn a new way of relating to each other and the planet. It's time to learn a new way of doing business.
