Drum beat

Life is changing and the drumbeat is growing quicker. Fundamental structures are breaking away. The pace of life is picking up. Status quo is not the place to go.

Here's some of the patterns for the next few months. Saturn and Uranus are opposing each other. While Saturn is the planet of stability and regularity, governmental hierarchies and what we do in our professional lives, Uranus is the planet of change, revolution, independence and social freedom. If Saturn is the planet of structure, Uranus is the structure breaker.

Due to retrograde motion, Saturn and Uranus will oppose each other on September 15, 2009, April 26 and July 26th, 2010 in a series of three waves, each of which will be when we're most dealing with the acceleration. So much is happening that we didn't expect (Uranus), and we simply don't seem to have enough time (Saturn) to get to it all. We may feel a little nuts, but these are also the times when we can achieve the most.

Like waves of the celestial surf, these changes will wash over us one way or the other. Our work is being impacted on the first two dates as the alignment occurs in Pisces and Virgo. These are times to be fixing and repairing. But the last one in the series (July 26th, 2010) indicates a whole political and personal relationship shift; a new beginning. The final Saturn Uranus opposition occurs at 0 degrees Libra, when the scales of peace, war, law and our personal relationships are being re-aligned.

Naturally, this is not the only set of rhythms at work this year. What we have already looked at is when some of the actual shifts may occur, but the price we have to pay while going through this comes on other occasions. We have been looking at Saturn opposing Uranus, but Saturn will also square Pluto. November 15th, 2009, January 31 and August 21 2010 will be when we are actually having to pay for what this really means in personal expense, time and effort. Throughout each of these dates, the alignments occur in the first few degrees of Libra and Capricorn. To many, it will seem as though we just don't have time (Saturn), money (Pluto) or resources (Pluto). Like the earlier series the energy crests with each of the dates, but in a more gnarly fashion. This is a tough nut to crack.

Saturn squaring Pluto forces us to deal with the deep changes that have to be made, making us work on the really hard jobs. They may be difficult and dirty, but when you've worked them though, the new foundations can be in place.

There's a final series weaving its way throughout the year, and that's as Saturn inconjuncts Neptune. We're most uncertain about how things will work out on Sept. 12th, 2009, May 2nd and June 27th, 2010. These are the times during which we need to demonstrate our faith through what is not easily understood. Because we don't 'know', we simply must learn to trust. This is what faith is all about.

Three series of alignments to Saturn, all of them powerful in themselves. The first series is when things are changing, and fast, rattling our cage. The second forces us to deal with what is happening as we discover the cost, and the third is when the dust is in the air and we have to choose our forward path carefully.
