Pluto as imagined from one of its moons

Pluto as imagined from one of its moons

Beginning in 2008, Pluto will enter Capricorn.

Pluto is powerful stuff. It represents deep-seated emotions, secrets and what we don't want to reveal. On a societal level, Pluto in Cap is the concealed power behind the government (Capricorn). To describe some of Pluto's facets is to describe the personality of this entity within the administration.

Pluto is concentrated, strong, focused and jealous. It continually monitors its surroundings with a steady and purposeful gaze. In Capricorn, Pluto draws strength from its corporate power and will contribute whatever it takes to get the job done in a no-holds-barred contest.

These folks are serious. Deadly serious.

Pluto's moons

Astronomically Pluto has a 248-year cycle. The United States of America was born in 1776. This is 2007. 231 years ago, at the birth of the nation, Pluto was in Capricorn. Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, Pluto has not returned to its natal position. We have not experienced Pluto in Capricorn's vibration since the 18th century, a combination that might be celestially interpreted as death and rebirth (Pluto) of the government (Capricorn).

Pluto was in Capricorn from 1762 to 1778. During that time England was attempting to raise revenues (taxes- Pluto) to help fund the troops stationed here in America. Our founding fathers terminated their relationship with the Mother Land, and were reborn as the United States of America. Governmental death and transformative rebirth; Pluto in Capricorn.

Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson, our 3rd president

Pluto in Cap in the second house also represents corporate control. Economic power is driven through taxes and the banking system. Taxes are Pluto, the banking system is the second house. When the framework of our government was being set up, Jefferson was opposed to this notion of privatized, interest bearing money, and said so.

"I sincerely believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Already they have raised up a money aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs."

Jefferson was for individual freedoms and saw himself as one of the 'people'. These are Uranian themes. Jefferson's Uranus conjuncted the US Pluto. He knew (Uranus) and fully understood the system (more Uranus- blueprints, plans, schema, building plans, etc.) behind the United States banks (Pluto in the US 2nd house of national finances).

Jefferson was opposed to the establishment of a "Bank of the United States", but Alexander Hamilton, a devotee of the English banking system won both Washington's ear and nod. In 1791 the first privately owned national bank was given a twenty-year charter. That year Neptune was squaring the US Pluto in Capricorn undermining the integrity of the entire financial system. Neptune moves very slowly, and its influence tends to linger over weeks or even months. Neptune squaring Pluto can mean there was deception around fiscal intentions, not all was as it seemed. They may have been hiding the truth behind lucrative deals, and/or perceptions molded to accommodate the owner's needs.
