In recent weeks, when the Web hasn't been examining the Iraqi War, we've been writing about the end of the Age of Pisces and what Revelation has had to say about these perilous times. There's another section of the Bible which also alludes to this period, and that is Matthew, Chs. 24 and 25. The disciples of Jesus misunderstand this 'time of the end', and like many people, confuse it with the end of the Age, a time of powerful transformations. In seeking to understand more about this period, the disciples ask Jesus to explain...
"And when he was sitting on the Mount of Olives the disciples came and asked him privately, 'Tell us, when is this going to happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the world?'" "And Jesus answered them, 'Take care that no one deceives you; because many will come using my name and saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars; do not be alarmed, for this is something that must happen, but the end will not be yet. For nation will fight against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes here and there. All this is only the beginning of the birth pangs." -Matthew 24:3-8 The reference to the beginnings of the birth pangs conveys the notion that something new is about to be born; and that this is not, as the disciples imply, the end of the world, per se. It is the Web's belief that we are currently in the final 10 years leading into this transition period, and that the fall of the Twin Towers was the curtain going up on this final chapter. The War on Terrorism, this vaguely defined conflict without geographical bounds, represents part of what is called for in these passages. "You will hear of wars and rumors of wars; do not be alarmed, for this is something that must happen, but the end will not be yet." The tensions which are building into the contractions of what will be the labor pains are preparing to give birth to a new civilization, a new consciousness, and a new way of governing. In an interesting parallel, the Web has also felt that the period of the Seven Seals is already well behind us, the last Seal having been opened in 1054 AD with the schism of the Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox Churches,
"...and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory, and he will send his angels with a loud trumpet to gather the chosen from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." -Matthew 24:30-31 |
