We currently stand at the end of an Age, a period which is referred to in the Bible as the end of time. When the Book of Revelation was written during the 1st century AD, it looked ahead to what was then the future, but is now our past. They stood at the threshold of a new time, bound together by a cultural continuity which has come to be identified with Christianity and the Catholic Church. In the early days of their history this movement was symbolized by the sign of the fish. Astrologically, this is said to have represented the passage of the vernal equinox into the constellation Pisces.
Pisces is a sign of the subconscious. It deals not only with mysticism and spiritual unity, but also prayer, meditation and monasticism. Consciousness is symbolized by the Sun and represents our waking mind and what we are aware of. It is light and focus and things that are obvious. The subconscious represents what is hidden, lost, or forgotten. It is escape and those who run away, not wanting to face the light of day. Taken one step further, Pisces is also the sign of suffering, sadness, confusion, and disillusionment.
The Book of Revelation describes in symbolic terms what was to come in the future, and the Age of Pisces is the period during which the 'Master' has 'left' in order to leave humanity to its own devices, to see how we do and to test our faith. Revelation represents a map of "...what is soon to take place." -Rev 22:6
A continual theme of Revelation is suffering. It is referred to by the author at the very beginning of this work. From Rev. 1:9;
"My name is John, and through our union in Jesus I am your brother and share your sufferings, your kingdom, and all you endure."
In Revelation 7 there appears a multitude of people from every nation, race, tribe and language, and we are told who they are: "These are the people who have been through the great persecution..." These are the souls of all who have died during the Age of Pisces, from the time of the Messiah until now, while standing up for their beliefs.
At the end of Revelation, after the tribulations, the Age of Pisces is over, and the New Age, the Age of Aquarius, begins. From Rev. 21:1, 4 and 5;
"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; the first heaven and the first earth had disappeared now, and there was no longer any sea..." (Pisces is a water sign which specifically rules the ocean.)
"He will wipe away all tears from their eyes; there will be no more death, and no more mourning or sadness. The world of the past has gone."
"Then the One sitting on the throne spoke: "Now I am making the whole of creation new..."
We are currently closing in on the end of the Age of Pisces, a time when, if we believe the story line, many of the graphic images of the Book of Revelation will come to life preparing the way for Aquarius, the water bearer and freedom fighter, symbolized in Rev 22:17 as,
"...all who want it may have the water of life, and have it free."
If Alpha and Omega mark the beginning and the end, then understand that the Vernal Equinox will align with Omega Piscium, a specific star in the constellation of the Fish, in the early spring of 2013 AD. We have less than 11 years left, and counting...
